Tchernichovsky Prize For Translation Awarded

The Tchernichovsky Prize for exceptional translation services has been awarded and the winners are Dr. Aminadav Dykman and Tal Nitzan. The panel of judges who moderated the process and the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality awarded the prize to Dykman and Nitzan for their years of outstanding translation work. The two translators who are known for their professional translation services have been congratulated by other specialists in many a translation service UK and across the world.

Dykman has conducted an array of poetry translation that was initially written in numerous ancient and modern languages. Some of his most important translation services included an anthology of 17th century European poetry. Nitzan received his accolades and prize for his translation of poems and prose written in a number of languages, namely Spanish.

The awards ceremony will be held in October where the two translation specialists will receive their prizes. The Tchernichovsky Prize has initiated a movement where translators and translation services will receive accolades and credit for their work. The Mifal Hapayis national lottery has announced that they will be contributing funds towards a translation prize as well as the esteemed Sapir Prize for Literature being a prominent award. Many translators partaking in certified translation services have worked outstandingly behind the scenes for many years and now will be able to be recognised for their diligent translation work. The Society of Authors also has a running tradition of awarding prizes for translation through the years and the ones for 2012 have been listed.

With the world becoming a global village and with society crossing borders, translation such as medical translation and academic and poetry translation, the importance to highlight and accredit the individuals behind the translation work done is becoming ever important.
