May 8, 2012 Events No Comments

trade americasA collaborative effort between the Latin Trade Group and the Inter-American Development Bank will host the first Trade Americas Expo: Creating an Environment for Business Opportunities in the Hemisphere next month. The event will be hosted at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami from June 12-13 and aims to introduce small and medium sized North American businesses to growing Mexican, Central, South American and Caribbean markets.

The central focus of the two day Trade Americas exhibition is to educate businesses on import export trade and investment opportunities in the above mentioned regions by offering presentations by various key business leaders, a stage for international networking, a forum for business discussions and a platform for showcasing trade exhibits. From the Trade Americas Expo, potential investors will have a better idea on how to go about investing in and trading with Latin American countries, making it a valuable Trade Americas US commercial service.

After experiencing years of political unrest and financial difficulties, Latin America is becoming one of the world’s fastest growing regional economies. Countries and companies from all corners of the globe are increasingly viewing Latin America as an attractive destination for both foreign investment and joint ventures. The Trade Americas forum will highlight Latin America’s $4.8 trillion economy, population of 600 million and growing middle class as fertile ground for expanding business opportunities.

Brazil and other non-South American BRICS nations (Russia, India, China and South Africa), as well as the emerging Latin American economies, look to benefit from the world’s increasing interest in investment and trade relations as businesses penetrate into expanding growth markets. Apart from the Trade Americas Expo that only concentrates on the Americas hemisphere, other newly launched trade expos are being held all over the world. For example the BRICS Africa Export-Import Forum was recently hosted in South Africa and focused on sea freight shipping, trade and investment in the emerging BRICS markets.
