Scotland Law To Get A Boost And Aid Economy
Law In Scotland
The government of Scotland and its economic development sector, have set their eyes on attracting London based managing partners in a bid to follow Northern Ireland’s success in alluring top law firms to open low-cost bases in the country, creating stronger ties for law in Scotland. It’s a movement that will in turn boost Scotland’s economy. There already are many an international law firm in Scotland but the influx of more low-cost law centres will significantly aid the economy of the country.
Boosting Scotland’s Economy
Scottish Development International (SDI), the sector of the government that is in charge of international economic development, has started a strategy to boost Scotland’s economy by visiting managing partners at many top law firms to urge them to open support service offices in Scotland in a bid to boost its economy. The visits and talks form part of an integral plan that was started in April this year to bring more law services, such as firms specialising in an array of laws such as business law to Scotland. Under the plan targeting law process in Scotland, Scottish Development International will also target legal process outsourcing (LPO) providers, and corporates and banks with large in-house teams, as well as private practice firms.
Support
Scottish Development International has also been liaising with the Law Society of Scotland about its plans, as well as with Scotland’s domestic law firms, which are largely supportive of the proposals as the aspect of boosting the country’s economy and the creation of jobs can only be favourable.
