New Video taken by Trapped Chile Miners Shows Conditions Underground

August 27, 2010 Current Affairs No Comments

The Chile miners who have now been trapped underground for almost 3 weeks, yesterday shot a 45 minute video of their the tiny underground cave which has become their home for the time being. You won’t find any pairs of womens safety shoes or nice comfortable Terra Footwear down there; these Chile minders are trapped by themselves and have only had the bare essentials to survive on until now.

The video below is a short snippet of the video that was shot by the Chile miners using a camera that was sent down to them to give the outside world an idea of what they’re up against:

As you can see in the video of these Chile miners, they seem to be in fairly high spirits despite being trapped deep underground. Most of the miners are shirtless and appear to be sweating which can only be expected when being trapped in a Chile mine for this long. In the video, the Chile miners explain how they were forced to make 3 days worth of emergency supplies last for 17 days until they were discovered. Luckily the Chile miners are now being supplied with food, rehydration tablets and anti-depressants.

It is said that the Chile miners will most likely still be stuck in their tiny enclosure for at least another four months, which is how long it is expected to take in order to drill a big enough hole in order to extract the Chile miners.

New-to-use will keep you posted.
