Chocolate Benefits Cardiovascular Health

Chocolate – it’s the bane of many a diet and the comfort food that people turn to. Now it seems that eating the good stuff is actually good for your health. As a research team from Cambridge University has discovered. As more and more chocolate benefits are discovered there really is no reason why you shouldn’t incorporate chocolate into your diet.

 

Some of the new health benefits of chocolate that have been discovered by this study include reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease by 37% compared with those people who eat little chocolate. This discovery comes after careful analysis of seven separate studies and over 100 000 participants. Furthermore the clinical research showed a 29% lower risk of stroke, although the risk of heart failure was not reduced.

 

3D Movies and TV may fail

Just as the world has gotten used to the glory of high definition television, we have been thrust into the world of 3D movies and television. To be completely accurate we have been testing out the capabilities of 3D television since I was in high school with classics such as Freddy’s Dead, which we watched in cinemas with blue and red lens glasses. How much further have we really come? In South Africa, HD and satellite TV with a DSTV installation is on the increase but still perhaps years from full penetration and will 3D be coming in the years as well?  Complaints have come from all angles regarding 3D movies and not only from film critics, but also from producers as well. Medical specialists also have thrown their diagnosis into the reel and so the question is whether the issues of 3D movies will ever be resolved?

Kruger Park Top Hotel to be Completed in 2012

Going on holiday at the Kruger Park just got even better. The government of South Africa has endorsed the construction of the first international class hotel in the Kruger National Park and is making sure that only the latest green technology gets incorporated in the design and is used in the construction. This will boost tourism to Africa even more and promote conservation of the Kruger Park and surrounding areas.

Malta Investment Sees Massive Increase from Foreigners

As 2010 came to end a final tally of the Foreign Direct Investment in Malta came to a whopping €12.4billion, while Direct Investment abroad measured at just €1.1billion. From January to December 2010 direct foreign Malta investment measured €583.8million, while reinvested earnings registered a decrease of €106million.

Rumors are circulating that Research in Motion (RIM) is planning to acquire the cloud storage expertise of Dropbox who have recently risen to an estimated net worth of over $1 billion. An ex-employee of the Canadian mobile company has stated that the interest is there and the Dropbox is currently looking for investors to boost company growth.

For individuals, Dropbox’s cloud storage offerings allow many benefits of shared hosting solutions that many companies have for personal use. With the program installed, the user is able to share files amongst friends and peers to be accessed anywhere with an internet connection. This can also be useful to access your own personal and business files on the move and to share database solutions in the cloud amongst a multitude of people. Up to 2gb of data can be used for free storage and after that charges are in accordance with user needs. Dropbox has released impressive figures of over 25 million users making use of over 200 million files per day, making it a heavyweight in the cloud storage market. It is also available for almost every platform, including Windows, Linux, Mac OSX and Android.

London Riots Result in Violence Elsewhere

As the London riots begin to quell somewhat, arguments as to the cause of them are heating up. Thousands of additional police were brought in to help put an end to the violence in London. Tempers are still running high and politicians are debating as to whether deprivation or criminality is behind the rioting in London. Meanwhile, “vigilante” communities are also doing their part to stop the riots and to protect their places of worship.
